The Trinity; stolen from the Triple Goddess

The switch from matriarchal to patriarchal religion was a slow and gradual process. Matriarchal religions focused around devotion to the triple Goddess, maiden, mother and crone represented by the phases of the moon. The matriarchal religions considered the moon, not the sun as more reliable. The moon’s phases were constant and trustworthy while the sun weakened and then strengthen each year. Women were considered divine representations of the creator because they produced life and were the only proof of true lineage. Fatherhood was not guaranteed. In matriarchal religions property and wealth passed through the mother’s line, mother to daughter. Matriarchal religions and society dominated the Celtic World and all of what is now Europe and Asia. Women were considered equal in all things and even fought side by side with men in war.

The patriarchy began to assert itself with the development of the Abrahamic religions. A war on women commenced and over centuries, the Goddess in religion was replaced by God. The triple Goddess was replaced with the trinity and women lost more and more position in society. An imbalance was created and war, barbarism and violence increased and proliferated.

We are moving back toward balance with the reemergence of the divine feminine. Focusing on the Goddess influence in society will begin to shift the equilibrium and begin to bring stability to a weary world. Reconnection with the divine feminine will neutralize the emphasis on toxic traits associated with out of control masculinity. Harmony and peace can be restored and focus on good for all.

Moon focused spirituality allows one to be in rhythm with nature and that balance creates harmony in the spirit. Inward reflection during the quiet new moon along with a focus on creating intentions for the month. The full moon is the time to act on intentions created during the new moon and the flow of energy is supported by the universe.

A call to return to the Goddess and the divine feminine.:

White Goddess of the night

comfort me til mornings light.

Illumine that which I should see

on this month’s focus my intentions be.
