The Death of Charlie Kirk

I am not a Christian, I am not socially conservative. So why am I sad Charlie Kirk died? I am very sad, I feel that he was a genuine person trying to engage in healthy debate with people who didn’t agree with him. There is nothing wrong with that, as a matter of fact, being able to communicate with people with opposing views is important. And that is what Charlie did, that is why I am sad. He represented what many can’t, the ability to dialog and hold firm to your convictions without demonizing the other person. We should celebrate our differences. We are expected to embrace Christianity if we are not Christian, Islam if we are not Muslim, Transgenderism even if we don’t agree with the ideology. As long as we don’t allow room for other people’s opinions, we will continue to have violence. As long as politicians call for violence against their opponents, we will have violence.

This was an assault against free speech. With the state of our country, we would have assassinated Socrates too.
