The Temple of Why began as a blog back in 2012. I was and still am a spiritual seeker who explored many traditions trying to find truth beyond perhaps what simply resonated with me or appealed to my ego. I wanted to really know if there was some profound truth out there that, if I kept looking, I could uncover.
I discovered spirituality is more than seeking and research, it is more than ritual and incense. Spirituality is a living breathing force that inhabits all of us and every living thing around us including Mother Earth. I discovered I had to experience this essence for myself, interact with it and embody it and the more I did, the more it lived in me, through me and around me.
In 2024, I founded the Temple of Why Circle. We meet every two weeks, we are a leaderless circle with each member taking turns as the spirit moves them, to present a spiritual topic for us to learn about and discuss. The only hard and fast rule is absolutely no politics and no activism. I wanted to focus of the group to be spirituality. I find that politics is divisive and when groups engage in activism or politics the mission of the group seems to focus on that as more of its core identity.
We have been meeting for a year now, coming up on our first year anniversary celebration. I decided to share some of our teachings and tenets. Tomorrow I will post the 6 tenets of the Temple of Why.
