For more than 20 years Easter meant music preparation and rehearsals all culminating in 4 Masses that were the living representation of the point of Catholicism, of Christianity. Christ’s death and the important part, his resurrection. I love(d) the services, the music, the solemnity.
So now does Easter have any meaning at the Temple of Why? I think it does. We have room in our tradition for Christ, but focus on his love versus sin. We don’t believe a living “God” would sacrifice his son or damn us all to an eternity in hell.
We believe we chose to be here, in the physical world because we like it here. The sensations, sounds, beauty – all of it. And we come back to experience it again and again with Soul Mother God’s blessing.
Yes, we believe or emphasize the feminine aspect of God based on the Hermetic principle “as above, so below”. And since women bear children in the physical world, therefore Soul Mother bears souls from the Cave of Creation. To me that is a much more realistic portrayal.
This Easter I am grateful for renewal, a chance to grow spiritually and living in a beautiful world. Does this world have issues? Of course, but beauty exists everywhere we look.
